For applications with high
temperature variations (thermal cycling). and/or pressure variations,
and/or flange rotation problems etc., gaskets with adequate residual
stress retention), flexibility and recovery are needed.
TEADITŪ spiral-wound gaskets have been designed to meet these demanding
requirements. Spiral-wound gaskets are made of a preformed metallic
strip and a soft filler material (PTEF or graphite), wound together
under pressure, and optionally with an inner and/or outer guide
ring. The metal strip holds the filler, resulting in excellent
mechanical resistance, resilience and recovery |
The metallic outer ring:
serves to center the gasket and as protection against overloading The metallic inner ring:
* Protects the windings on the inside from high temperature, avoids
creation of turbulences within the pipe work, Protects the
spiral from corrosion
* avoids deformation of the gasket in radial direction (buckling)

Similar to STYAL 3070 but made from pure, expanded flexible
graphite. Styal 3110 is also available with inconel wire reinforcement
Excellent heat resistance from -240 C upto + 450
°C (-400 F up to 842 F) with steam
upto 650 C (1,200 F)
Can be used in connection with most media including steam, fuel, gas,
